RESCUE has been told by Trefonen Rural Protection Group that the application to build new houses close to the line of Offa’s Dyke has been rejected by Shropshire County Council’s Planning Committee following their energetic campaign. The local campaign, supported by RESCUE, also resulted in English Heritage extending the scheduled area of the Dyke in Trefonen and has significantly increased local interest and involvement with their heritage. The message also said: “Thank you so much, for all that RESCUE has done for us. Were it not for RESCUE, the diggers would already be moving in; your help, advice and encouragement is greatly appreciated.”
