AGM: Digging into the future of digitisation

DIGGING INTO THE FUTURE OF DIGITISATION:

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR ARCHAEOLOGY?

For Rescue’s 2020 Public Meeting, we are pleased to be joined by Brendon Wilkins (Dig Ventures) and Chiara Bonacchi (Stirling University) who will each be presenting, followed by a Panel Discussion to explore:

  • Insights on the opportunities and obstacles for the adoption of technology-based approaches
  • Concerns regarding: training of staff and generational marginalisation, costs of investment, compatibility of technologies for sharing, obsolescence of technology, infrastructure and changes in standards
  • Future challenges (e.g. innovation, investment, storage, and even the climate crisis)
