As you know, this year for RESCUE’s AGM we had scheduled two fantastic talks and a panel discussion on Digging into the Future of Digitisation: What does this mean for archaeology? which was to take place on Saturday 4th April from 2pm to 4pm at the UCL Institute of Archaeology. However, in light of recent events, we feel that the best course of action is to postpone the event until individuals feel more comfortable with travelling to and within London. It is certainly a timely and exciting event, and we are all looking forward to it, so we hope you will join us later in the future when we find a more suitable time for it to take place.
Everyone’s health and wellbeing are of the utmost importance, and due to the current spread of Covid-19, we feel that supporting social distancing through rearranging the AGM to a safer time is the most responsible path to take. It is also the case that UCL will shut imminently, supporting our move for delay.
We will of course keep all members updated via email, with the wider public informed via our social media/website.
In the meantime, we are keen to keep having a discussion about the topic of the open meeting – Digital Archives in Archaeology. To get the debate going in advance of our Open Meeting we are inviting members and non-members to get involved in our online discussion where you can share your thoughts on key questions in the debate.
